Vocera

Not “voicera” as i previously called it.

This is a device that allows you to call particular individuals by name, or an entire group by title (i.e. “ED Tech, EKG in room 3″)

Once you get the hang of it, and it recognizes your voice, it can be a true life saver in a busy ED that is very spread out. Less yelling, less searching for individuals, less walking around to communicate with desk clerks. Unlike walkie talkie type radios, not everyone hears every conversation, the device only transmits to the indivuals you ask it to transmit to.
